Think you’re not creative? Think again! We all have the potential to generate really great ideas and use our creative thinking caps if we just spend a bit of time learning about the process our minds go through to create ideas or creatively solve problems. Absolutely everyone can learn these techniques and unlock their own creative genius. Here’s how it works, in a nutshell… Your creative genius operates on a sub-conscious level, which may be why you haven’t been aware of your own personal creativity.
I’m sure you’ve heard people talk about ‘AHA’ moments - the moment when we are jolted to attention, snap our fingers and yell “Eureka!” Those moments often happen well after we have consciously decided that we cannot find a solution or new idea and have dropped the matter. But our sub-conscious hasn’t dropped it at all. In your past, ideas or solutions may have simply arrived to your conscious thought like a divine or mysterious vision. You don’t know why the idea or solution came to you, or why it arrived at precisely that moment. The reason for this is that your sub-conscious has tenacity, applaud it! While your conscious or logical mind has been busy on other matters, your sub-conscious works away at creative ideas. One of the best and easiest techniques to put in place when you are stale-mated to a solution or coming up with a new idea is to busy your brain on another matter altogether. Try it, you’ll see. Just be ready to recognize the creative idea when it arrives! Filed under: Awakening Creativity Comments:
