I’ve been away for a while. I’ve been working away steady at some of my other web projects, dealing with life, and running through the holiday season. My site just seemed to take a back seat. You know life is so busy these days, for all of us, that I feel we’re all overwhelmed. It seems my generation spends more time ‘putting out fires’ than ever before. We’re just too busy to manage our lives effectively, so we end up resolved to a life of dealing with issues only when they become crisis situations. We’re all just getting through each day as best we can. That sounded really pessimistic, yet anyone who knows me knows that I’m an optimist. Today I’ve taken the stance of realism. Life is just too hectic. Let’s talk about some ways to solve our issues creatively (since that is the theme here) before they become insurmountable situations… Creative Problem Solving Creative problem-solving helps you to see your troubles in a new light. Hopefully that light will guide you through the end of the tunnel quickly and without a lot of uproar in the process. The first step is to keep an open mind to your troubles and the possibly outcomes. There is generally more than one solution to every situation, but you’ve got to be open-minded to see them. This is also where optimism comes in. Minds blocked by “Oh there’s no hope!”, despair, or frustration, are never going to see alternative solutions. Find a way to stay ‘up’ – even if you have to fake it for the first little while – will give you a new lease on life and open more doors. With an optimistic mindset, you’ll also be more creative in solving your problems. Tomorrow I’m going to talk about the steps in creative problem solving. Right now I want you to push a smile on your face and work hard at seeing the silver lining in all things. Make a game of it, you’ll feel different by the time I write tomorrow – I guarantee it!
