If you’ve been in sales and marketing online or off for any respectable amount of time you’ve heard of Seth Godin and his remarkable books. He’s either loved or abhorred, but he’s ‘talked about’, and being ‘talked about’ is ‘key to the game’ after all. You can go to amazon right now and search his name. Click on any book and read the reviews - there’s a pile of them for every book and the individual ‘rate this book’ stars are usually incredible 5s or horrid 1s. Seth’s before his time. As are all creative geniuses. Which is why today, in 2005 I’m suggesting a little book he wrote 4 books back called Purple Cow and it’s sequel 99 Cows. Which I’m also going to supply to you, in a moment… The product description for the former reads: “You’re either a Purple Cow or you’re not. You’re either remarkable or invisible. Make your choice.” and “In Purple Cow, Seth Godin urges you to put a Purple Cow into everything you build, and everything you do, to create something truly noticeable. It’s a manifesto for marketers who want to help create products that are worth marketing in the first place.” The book I want to share with you today is the later, described here: “99 examples of Seth Godin’s PURPLE COW philosophy, sort of the sequel to his bestselling Purple Cow book. By finding the edges, by becoming remarkable, organizations win.” It’s not a ‘how-to’. It’s not a step-by-step, ‘do this and you’ll be remarkable’ manual. Use it as a creative thinking tool. Observe 99 other businesses that took a risk, followed their dream and made something remarkable. It is meant to inspire. You can buy the copy on amazon for just $9.99 or download it right here free. It’s okay, I have Seth’s permission to give it to you. Click the book cover and grab your free copy. Skim it, stop on the cows that interest you and observe your creative, innovative self become inspired. If you right mouse click on that image, then select ‘Save As’ from the pop up menu you can store the document anywhere on your hard drive and read it at your leisure. You’ll need a PDF reader to open the book, available free from www.adobe.com Enjoy! p.s. I forgot to mention! Seth has a new book coming out called “All Marketers Are Liars - The Power of Telling Authentic Stories in a Low Trust World” - sound interesting? It’s not available until May 23, 2005 but you can pre-order it at the link below. UPDATE September 5th: Ready? There’s a new Seth Godin freebie ebook for you… Filed under: Idea KickStarts and Recent Posts Comments: None |
